Powering the Future: Our Recent EV Charger Installation for HenmanDunn Limited

At G Costa Electrical, we’re passionate about driving the transition to a greener future, one project at a time. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with our friends at HenmanDunn Limited, a forward-thinking commercial office that’s embracing electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
This exciting project involved the installation of two 7.4kW single-phase Deta EV chargers and one 22kW three-phase Deta charger. These state-of-the-art chargers are designed to meet the diverse needs of employees and visitors, supporting the growing demand for EV charging facilities in commercial spaces.
The Challenge: Distance and Complexity
Every installation comes with its unique challenges, and this project was no exception. The main obstacle we faced was the significant distance between the main cutout and the front of the building, where the chargers were to be installed. Running cabling across such a large area posed logistical and technical challenges, requiring meticulous planning and execution.
Our Solution: A Dedicated Sub Board
To overcome this challenge and ensure optimal performance of the EV chargers, we installed a dedicated sub-board exclusively to power the charging units. This approach allowed us to:
Deliver a reliable power supply to all chargers.
Minimize load impact on the existing electrical infrastructure.
Future-proof the setup for potential expansions.
By designing a tailored solution, we ensured that the installation not only met current needs but was also ready for the growing adoption of electric vehicles.

The completed setup includes:
Two Deta 7.4kW Chargers: Perfect for overnight or long-duration charging of single-phase EVs.
One Deta 22kW Three-Phase Charger: Ideal for faster charging and supporting fleet or high-usage vehicles.
